About Our Rescue
New Beginnings Shih Tzu Rescue is a 501(c)(3) foster home based non-profit dog rescue, that has been saving dogs since 2005. We have foster homes located in Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, and Illinois. We strive to Rescue, Rehabilitate, and Re-home any small breed dog, but we specialize in Shih Tzu’s. Our goal is to find the perfect home for every dog. They may have not had the perfect home before, but they deserve it now!

We Rescue
New Beginnings Shih Tzu Rescue is a charitable organization consisting of volunteers dedicated to the rescue of small dogs. The dogs brought into our rescue program as fosters, come from surrendering owners, shelters, pounds, or breeders who are reducing their stock, and other sources.
We Rehabilitate
Our foster dogs live with foster families, who volunteer for New Beginnings. Our foster dogs are treated as loved family members and live with their foster families until adoption. They are given medical care, and other medical treatment for conditions diagnosed during their period of foster care, by licensed veterinarians.
We Rehome
Our foster homes work very hard to determine the best possible match between their foster dog and potential forever home. The foster home is the best judge of what their foster dog needs. For that reason, final approval for the adoption rests with the foster home.
