Owner Surrender

We understand that life circumstances may sometimes require a family to surrender a beloved dog. Before making this decision, consider speaking with your veterinarian. They may be able to recommend solutions or refer you to a qualified trainer who can help address behavioral concerns.

To request that NBSTR consider accepting your dog, email bret@nbstr.org with:

• The reason you need to surrender your dog
• Your name, address, and telephone number
• Your dog’s name, sex, and age
• Spay or neuter status and vaccination history
• Temperament details, including any aggression or bite history
• A recent photograph of your dog

After receiving the information, our Intake Coordinator will contact you. Please understand that the intake process may take time and acceptance depends on available foster-home space. NBSTR reserves the right to decline dogs with aggression or bite histories.
